is the founder, owner and CEO of Voelter Financial Advisory GmbH (VFA). He founded VFA to support companies in the financial or digital sector. The company may be a start-up that has to be developed to the next level, or mature and in reorganisation, or just in need of a new strategy.

Michael is an experienced manager who developed his management career in the financial sector for 25 years. In 2022, he founded his own company, Voelter Financial Advisory GmbH, to serve as an experienced board member and executive advisor in selected companies and for a small range of projects.

Previously he worked as Group CEO of Stuttgart Stock Exchange, the sixth-largest exchange group in Europe. The company was committed to a full-scale digital strategy and built leading digital asset projects. It initiated the first regulated exchange for cryptocurrencies in Europe (BSDEX) and the leading retail distribution app in the crypto space, with over 500,000 active users.

Before that he served as Chief Investment Officer and CFO for a property/casualty and life insurance company, SVSparkassenVersicherung, managing more than €20 bn AUM. He made a point to make sustainable investments and was very interested in expanding the investment universe to new asset classes (e.g. infrastructure and ESG assets).

During his career, Michael has joined over 15 different boards in national and international companies, mainly in the financial sector. He gained experience in the role of chairman of boards, where he drove the strategic and structural work of the companies. He is the author of the book “Tasks and Duties of a Board Member”.

His expertise lies in the development and implementation of strategies, the reorganisation of companies and groups, and the development of new business lines, such as cryptocurrency trading, tokens or foreign market-making. Michael has organised two post-merger integrations and has strong knowledge of the regulation of financial institutions.
